According to statistics about 450 million people
mostly women are currently living with diabetes. The international diabetes
federation announced that this year's world diabetes day would focus on women
and children along with their access to treatment .
Diabetes
is a group of disease that result in too much sugar in the blood ( high blood glucose).
It is also known as DIABETES MELLITUS and it is described as a metabolic
condition of having higher than normal blood sugar levels caused by a combination
of hereditary and environmental factors. There are different reasons why people
get high blood sugar level so a number of different types of diabetes exist.
Type
1 diabetes (insulin dependent) require insulin to treat,it is typically
developed as a child or young adult,and is a disease that destroys pancreatic
cells meaning no insulin production is possible.
Type 2 diabetes (Non-insulin dependent diabetes):
it is considerably more common and typically affects people over the age of
45,who are also overweight.
Those suffering from type 2 are unable to produce enough
insulin and sugar build up in the bloodstream.
Symptoms of diabetes
Type I Symptoms:

High level of sugar in the blood and urine.
2.
Frequent urination.
3. Hunger.
4.
Thirst.
5. Weight
loss.
6.
Weakness.
Type 2 symptoms:
1.
Thirst and regular need to urinate.
2. Tiredness.
3. Irritability.
4. Nausea.
5.
Skin infection.
6. Blurry
vision.

to control diabetes.
Type1 diabetes is controlled with insulin
either by regular injection of insulin or through wearing an insulin pump which
drips insulin into the body through the day.
Type
2 diabetes can be controlled through diet and exercise,although it is common
for people with type 2 diabetes to need medication such as tablets or injection
to help them to keep their blood sugar level within the normal range.
