Since the unexpected success of "Living Things" marked a sort of career renaissance for 9ice, the singer has struggled to keep his comeback train on track. He has since dropped a number of songs that, while all relatively solid, never really took off.
Seemingly in panic mode as the year runs out, 9ice has dropped three music videos in as many days. While the first two — "Love You Like Kilode" and "Tonight"— are serviceable, we think he might have struck gold with the third, "Pabanbari"
Produced by DJ Coublon, "Pabanbari" is easily the best song 9ice has released since "Living Things". While "Pabanbari" isn't quite an upbeat party-starter like that alleged ode to Yahoo boys, it is sure to at least get heads bobbing and toes tapping.
On the track, 9ice brags about his artistry and talks about giving himself a fresh start. "Cancelling numerous negativity/This time around, no more familiarity/ This is my true identity/ I'm forgiving all my enemies", he sings at the start of the first verse.
The music video, which was directed by Clarence Peters, is pretty impressive as well. Filled with sharp colours and vibrant imagery, it seems 9ice is one of the few Nigerian artists Clarence reserves his A game for; although he might want to retirethis colour scheme.
