5 affordable vacation ideas for low-income earners

The Nigerian economy is pretty harsh and gives no room for a vacation for low-income earners.

Hell, even average income earners find it hard to just sit back and enjoy a holiday at some swanky resort.
You don't have to break the bank before taking your kids or loved ones for a great family adventure.
Also included are some locations in Nigeria that you could kick back and spend less than your budget.

1. Take a trip to Cotonou

Don't overlook our neighbouring country Benin. A stone's throw from Lagos, you can enjoy the amazing beaches and hotels on the coast.
Spend two nights at Hôtels Résidences Easy for less than N20,000.
Going as a couple? Then you can split the deal.
Some people consider Ghana a nicer place to live compared to Nigeria.

2. Ghana

Try the secluded ecolodge at Cape Three Points for N18,000 total. It's amazing there: There are pristine beaches, mountains, national forests, safaris, and weekend reggae shows at Big Milly's Back Yard or La Badi Beach. And you can even order fresh drinks and have them brought to your seat facing the waves.
There's so much more, too: paragliding barefoot off a mountain, surf lessons e.t.c.

3. Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico

You would be surprised that vacationing in Mexico is as cheap as they come.
You wouldn't spend more than N10,000 per night on a hotel room and they also include light breakfasts.
Wikki Warm Springs, Yankari Game Reserve, Nigeria

4. Yankari Games Reserve and Resort, Bauchi

Chatty baboons, dancing hippos, baby elephants and other species of wildlife will tickle your fancy at this charming place.
Let's not forget the Marshall cave systems and Wikki warm springs, another exciting attractions ideal for family fun. Yankari also has outdoor and indoor sports facilities and suitable accommodation.
Rooms go for as low as 15k.

5. Togo

Just like the Benin  Republic, life is simple and cheap in this quaint little country. You would definitely get a hotel close to the beach for as little as N15,000.
