PayPorte unveils 65 new ambassadors, targets 1 million Nigerian students


Online retail store and sponsor of the ongoing Big Brother Naija reality TV show, PayPorte, has announced the unveiling of 65 students as campus ambassadors for the brand.
The 65 students were drawn from 13 campuses across Nigeria in an 8-month rigorous selection exercise which commenced in June 2017. 
The selected students are expected to represent the brand on their campuses.

This program is targeted at empowering over 1 million Nigerian students in Nigerian campuses, within the next three years, giving them a sense of responsibility right from school.
The new PayPorte Campus Ambassadors were unveiled at the induction ceremony held at the PayPorte Headquarters in Lagos between February 16 and 17, 2018.
“The PayPorte Campus Ambassador Program is PayPorte’s sustainability and future initiative program, aimed at empowering young Nigerians with entrepreneurial skills, while giving them the opportunity of earning income even while on campus” says Bassey Eyo, Chief Executive Officer, PayPorte.
“The program will give the Ambassadors a sense of responsibility, an opportunity to experience firsthand the challenges of entrepreneurship and inspire a drive for success. 
The Campus Ambassadors are expected to be empowered in a bid to prepare them for the future and deepen the brand’s acceptability in the next generation.” added Bassey.

The 11-month program will see the ambassadors functioning as PayPorte contacts in their various campuses, with monthly stipends, access to scholarships, mentorship, training and lots more.
The new ambassadors will function alongside existing PayPorte ambassadors such as superstar dance queen Kafayat Shafau (Kaffy), Actor and Model Gbenro Ajibade, author and model Laura Ikeji Kanu, Africa Female Footballer of the year Asisat Oshoala, model Olajumoke Orisaguna, former Big Brother Naija housemates Tayo Faniran, Somadina Anyama, Miyonse Amosu, Uriel Oputa, and Ekemini Ekerette (Kemen).

Guests who were present to speak to the new ambassadors include celebrity comedian Ayo Makun (AY), Kafayat Shafau (Kaffy), Somadina Anyama, and House of Lunettes CEO Akin Olaoye.

These Ambassadors are some of the brightest minds in our tertiary institutions and PayPorte is proud to work with them. It provides us the platform to hone our leadership and marketing skills” says Okolie Anthony Ugochukwu, a 500-level Environmental Engineering student of University of Port Hacourt and Payporte Campus Ambassador.
