According to a post in Facebook by Alhaji Bukar soliciting for attention for spinisters in Borno State, he called on the state government to emulate the efforts of some states in Northern Nigeria.
Alhaji Bukar claimed the ladies reportedly made an appeal to Borno State Governor, Kashim Shettima asking him to come to their aid because being single was taking a toll on them.
According to the Spinsters, they want to be helped like their counterparts in Kano state who are being sponsored by the state government for their weddings.
The mass wedding programme was first introduced in the state by the Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso administration when the incumbent governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje was the deputy and through the programme, thousands of couples have been wedded by the Kano State government.
