Dad-of-two charged with murder of wife

A father-of-two was tonight charged with the murder of his wife of two years who was found dying when a friend called by their home.
Simone Grainger is believed to have suffered 'severe head injuries' when she died in the arms of paramedics after a friend raised the alarm when she arrived at the couple's terraced home on Saturday afternoon.
Detectives launched a major hunt for her technician husband Steven Grainger, 32, and he was arrested several miles away 10 hours later.
Simone was a mother of two children - a boy and girl who are both of primary school age.
A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said yesterday that the scene had been sealed off as forensic science experts combed the house for clues.
Police declined to say whether a weapon had been involved or how 30-year-old Mrs Grainger's injuries had been caused at the red brick home in Windsor Way, Calcot, Berkshire.
The 32-year-old father, who friends said worked had worked as a technician for the Insta Group, was taken to nearby police cells and was tonight charged by detectives from the Thames Valley Police Major Crime Team.
