Sometimes it
looks like there is a power struggle between Lagos, the industrial hub of the
Nigeria, the former capital city of Nigeria and its rival city, Abuja the
current capital city of Nigeria.
Over time, many have compared both states and argued about the better place for work and residency, as these are two large cities are known to greatly influence the industrial sector and the administration of Nigeria.
Abuja, the capital of Nigeria may be the seat of power but Lagos is one of the largest cities in Africa. A city that best combines the diversities, character, and strength of Nigeria. Many are the tales you will hear about Lagos; some good, some bad and some ugly but if you ever have your eyes on a great future, the place to have to be Lagos.

Abuja is still being built:
Lagos was the
capital of Nigeria from the Amalgamation in 1914 until it was moved to Abuja in
1991. So, even in places like Ajegunle, Agege, more often than not you’ll find
every street tarred and well named unlike Abuja where new areas for residency
are opening up every day. In some parts of Abuja outside the central areas like
Maitama, Garki etc you can’t assess some locations with a car.
Social
Life:
If you’ve
ever lived in Lagos and Abuja, you would be quick to point out the boring
social life that hovers around Abuja. The social life setting that you embrace
in Lagos may never leave you. There are lots of necessary social behaviors in
Lagos, like the small talks, fashion, communication and socialization that run
deep in every fiber of Lagos. Lagos is where life begins socially and spread to
other parts of Nigeria.
Transport
alternatives:
Transport alternatives There are lots
of transport alternatives like the BRT buses, Yellow buses, taxis and tricycles
for you in Lagos unlike Abuja where you can only get ‘London taxi’ and
green-cabs, which are quite expensive and few. Lagos has one of the busiest routs with readily available cheap flights both
within and outside Nigeria.
Lagos
is the main commercial center of Nigeria:
Large volume goods/heavy goods are mostly
transported by sea and because of the sea ports in Lagos most goods that come
into the country land in Lagos and others travel there to buy to other parts of
the country.
Home
of Nollywood
Home of Nollywood In Lagos you will
find the highest number of celebrities and entertainers living in Nigeria. It
is the city where entertainment is done better than anywhere in Nigeria.
In summery both Lagos and Abuja stand out as mega cities and you can also get cheap flight from Lagos to Abuja.
