Meet Nick Nittoli: Musician, Producer & Songwriter

Nick Nittoli
is a new find for us but he’s been working as a background superstar for quite some time now. A producer and songwriter, he’s touched records from some of our favorite artists in the business and now he’s taking center stage as an artist himself. We got Nick to weigh in on a few things covering his journey, his credits as well as what’s coming next for this rising talent!

From the outside looking in, who is Nick Nittoli?

I am a songwriter and producer/artist for Bump Into Genius/Warner Chappell Music Publishing. I merge different genres of music, as well as produce, and write music for other artists such as Snoop Dogg, French Montana, Yg, Sam Bruno, Bianca Ryan, Fabian Mazur, and many others. I pride myself on being able to write and perform in different genres which stems from my writing and producing career.

What was the defining moment that brought you to the music business?

The defining moment which really brought me to the music business was when I was cast on Bravo’s Platinum Hit reality TV show in 2011. It was a great experience which really taught me a lot about the business side of the industry and grabbed my interest into being a successful songwriter and producer. I finished 4th in the competition only to begin writing for some of the biggest artists in the music industry.

What highlights of your journey helped shape you into the artist you are now?

I have been kinda behind the scenes now for a while, writing and producing for various artists including Snoop Dogg, and French Montana, but one of the defining moments was when I wrote a song for Snoop and he used the exact lyrics and melody that I wrote. After talking with his people I learned that it was very rare for snoop to use anyone else’s exact melody or lyrics so it was a real treat for me, and I was extremely proud of that. I think that being behind the scenes as a writer and producer really helped shape me into the artist that I am today.

Where do you look to take your listeners with your music?

I really want to give my listeners an experience that they will not get anywhere else. That’s why I do different genres like country, r & b, while still doing hip hop and pop. I want my listeners to never know what to expect with my music when they turn on a Nick Nittoli record. I want to be a shock and a surprise with every track.

What’s the most satisfying thing about making music?

The most satisfying thing for me about creating music is when someone tells me that I have truly reached them and helped them through a real-life scenario. That was one of my main goals when I started this artist project. To reach people and to help them through something that I was going through and could relate to through my music. This way my pain, somehow turned to someone’s joy. There’s nothing better than that.

Tell us about your current project and what it means for you!

I am currently working on my 9th studio album entitled “Self Untitled” and I am very excited to release this record. This one really captures a lot of my older songs that I have written a long time ago, some of my early struggles as well as where I am at now. There are new songs and old songs on this record and the merge of them will be something people have never heard from me. I have released a few singles off of this upcoming album so far, but the best songs will remain unreleased until the album drops at the end of this month.

What’s up next for you?

Now that this pandemic is over I will be looking to play some live shows, and hopefully tour soon. This upcoming record has taken up a lot of my time since I am mixing and mastering all of my own music, so I’m really looking forward to performing some of this material. I also direct & edit my own music videos, so there will be a lot more of those dropping soon. I am in the process of editing a new music video as we speak, so look out for that as well.

What’s been your funniest WTF moment thus far in your career?
When I started making music videos, I really just made them for myself and some of my fans, but recently I have been receiving a ton of videos of people covering my songs and doing reaction videos of my music on youtube. So I’ll get like 5-10 messages a day with people singing my songs, or dancing to my music online and enjoying my music, so that was a huge WTF moment in my career. I love it!
