Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, known as Portable, has been sentenced to three months imprisonment with the option of a N30,000 fine by an Ogun State Chief Magistrate Court in Ifo.
Chief Magistrate Babajide Ilo found Portable guilty on two counts: assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest. The charges stemmed from an incident in November 2022 where Portable allegedly attacked a police inspector and obstructed officers attempting to serve him an arrest warrant in Okeosa, Ilogbo.
The court's judgment included a one-month sentence with a N10,000 fine for the assault charge and a two-month sentence with a N20,000 fine for resisting arrest. Portable was initially arrested in March 2023 in connection with the incident.
