The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has provided a comprehensive statistical analysis of the outcomes of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), offering insights into the performance levels of candidates across the country.
JAMB's data indicates that a total of 1,955,069 individuals participated in the 2025 UTME. Notably, the results show that more than 1.5 million of these candidates achieved scores below the 200 mark.
Further details released by the board highlight that 4,756 candidates attained scores exceeding 320, while an additional 7,658 candidates scored within the 300 to 319 range.
In an accompanying statement, JAMB clarified that 40,247 underage candidates were permitted to sit for the examination to showcase remarkable academic talent. However, only a small fraction of these young candidates, specifically 467 individuals (representing 1.16%), achieved scores meeting JAMB's criteria for exceptional performance. JAMB further stated that these high-achieving underage candidates will proceed through three additional evaluation phases before their final assessments are concluded.
