Jade Damarell, 32, Dies in County Durham Skydiving Incident


Jade Damarell
, a 32-year-old experienced skydiver with over 400 jumps, died in a skydiving incident on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at Wrefords’ Farm in Shotton, County Durham.


Sky-High Skydiving, the company involved, described her death as a tragedy and indicated it appeared to be "a deliberate act taken to end her own life," though a coroner is yet to rule. The company expressed their condolences to her family and friends and urged anyone in crisis to seek help.


Wrefords’ Farm also shared their condolences and asked for privacy. A friend noted the skydiving community in Shotton is "devastated and deeply traumatized" by the loss of Damarell, who was passionate about the sport and had completed many jumps recently.


Durham Constabulary confirmed the incident, stating that police and ambulance services attended the scene around 10:30 am. They reported that the woman, in her 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her death is not being treated as suspicious, and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
