The Africa Women Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum (AWIEF) is excited to announce that nominations are officially open for the 2025 AWIEF Awards. This prestigious event serves as a cornerstone of AWIEF's mission to champion women's economic empowerment and close the gender gap in business leadership across the continent.
The AWIEF Awards were established to recognize, honor, and celebrate exceptional women entrepreneurs and founders for their remarkable achievements and their profound contributions to Africa’s inclusive economic growth and sustainable development.
Nominees are sought from a wide range of established women entrepreneurs who have demonstrated extraordinary vision, leadership, innovation, and business success within their respective sectors.
The winners of the 2025 AWIEF Awards will be announced and celebrated at a high-profile awards ceremony and gala dinner on October 31, 2025. This event will serve as the grand finale of the AWIEF2025 Conference, which is set to take place from October 30 to 31, 2025, at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) in Cape Town, South Africa.

Social Entrepreneur Award
Lifetime Achievement Award
These awards are designed to shine a light on African women who are breaking barriers, building successful businesses, and actively transforming communities through impactful, sustainable, and innovative initiatives.
Irene Ochem, the Founder and CEO of AWIEF, emphasized the deeper purpose of the awards, stating, “The AWIEF Awards are not just about recognition—they are about empowering and amplifying the voices of women who are boldly shaping the future of Africa.”
Eligibility: Nominees must be Africa-based women entrepreneurs, founders, or business leaders who have made significant contributions to economic growth and development.
Nomination Deadline: Submissions must be completed by July 17, 2025, at 11:59 CAT.
