Dangote Group Finally Replies Phyna Over Sister’s Accident – Here’s What They Said

The much-anticipated response from Dangote Group to the heartbreaking case of BBNaija Season 7 winner, Phyna’s younger sister, has finally landed and it’s already sparking fresh conversations online.

Recall that Phyna’s sister, Ruth Otabor, recently suffered a devastating accident involving a Dangote truck near Auchi Polytechnic, Edo State. The incident left her left leg amputated from the pelvis, while the other leg remains at risk, alongside serious injuries to her head and hand. The story drew national attention, with actress Kate Henshaw and many Nigerians demanding justice and accountability.

In their official statement, Dangote Group confirmed that a representative had visited Ruth in the hospital, promising to cover all her medical bills and provide compensation. They also wished her a “speedy recovery.”
But that phrase ,speedy recovery,  did not sit well with Phyna. Taking to social media, she fired back:

“How is someone with an amputated leg and in critical condition supposed to recover speedily?”

She also condemned the group for allegedly sharing pictures of her family without permission, calling it a violation of their privacy.

The reply from Dangote may have been intended to calm tensions, but it’s clear this story is far from over. Public opinion remains sharply divided  with some praising the company’s offer, and others backing Phyna’s fight for full justice beyond compensation.

One thing is certain: this case has moved beyond an accident report. It's now a national conversation on corporate responsibility, justice, and respect for victims’ dignity.
