Former U.S. President Joe Biden Celebrates Completion of Radiation Therapy

Former President Joe Biden has reached a major milestone in his cancer journey, successfully completing a scheduled course of radiation treatment for an aggressive form of prostate cancer.

A Milestone Moment Shared

The 82-year-old former leader, who was diagnosed in May 2025 with an aggressive, high-risk prostate cancer that had unfortunately spread to the bone, marked the end of this treatment phase with a significant tradition in oncology: ringing the bell.

His daughter, Ashley Biden, captured the emotional moment in a video posted to her social media. The clip showed her father at Penn Medicine Radiation Oncology in Philadelphia, ringing the ceremonial silver bell alongside his medical team.

"Rung the bell! Thank you to the incredible doctors, nurses, and staff at Penn Medicine. We are so grateful!" Ashley Biden captioned the video, expressing the family's deep gratitude.

The Treatment Journey

A spokesperson for the former president confirmed the completion of the radiation course, which was part of a comprehensive treatment plan. Biden has also been undergoing hormone therapy since his diagnosis. The cancer was discovered during a routine physical exam when a small nodule was found on his prostate.

Biden, who will celebrate his 83rd birthday next month, has faced multiple health challenges recently. In addition to the prostate cancer, he also underwent a procedure in September to remove skin cancer lesions from his head. Despite these health battles, his team remains optimistic about managing the disease effectively.
