Wizkid Under Fire: Old Tweets About 14-Year-Old Girl Resurface and Spark Backlash

Wizkid is facing serious backlash after a set of old X (formerly Twitter) posts from 2010 resurfaced, showing him talking about a girl who was just 14 years old. In the tweets, a then-19/20‑year-old Wizkid repeatedly comments on how “cute” she is, saying things like, “Damn!!!… dis girl … she’s 14 … she looks 19!”  He even joked, “Dis girl too cute, I go bone age, kai.”

These resurfaced messages have sparked outrage across social media. Critics are calling the remarks “inappropriate” and pointing out the power imbalance between a rising star and a minor.  On the other hand, some defenders argue that Wizkid was young and didn’t fully understand the implications; they say his comments were immature and poorly phrased jokes, not a real plan.

Following the resurfacing, Wizkid deleted the tweets from his account on November 16, 2025.  But deleting them hasn’t stopped the conversation. Many are demanding a public statement, not just a quiet removal.

This situation brings up a critical question about celebrity accountability: should public figures be held responsible for what they posted when they were younger? And what does it mean for their legacy when their digital footprint comes back like this?

If Wizkid issues a genuine apology and reflects on his past, this could be a turning point. But if he stays silent, the controversy might leave a lasting stain.
