Bimbo Ademoye Resolves Monetisation Dispute Over YouTube Movie

Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Bimbo Ademoye, has confirmed that the monetisation issue surrounding her latest YouTube movie, Where Love Lives, has been successfully resolved following days of public concern and intense discussions online.

The movie, which was released on YouTube in December 2025, recorded massive success within a short period, attracting over 18 million views and earning widespread praise from fans. The project further solidified Bimbo Ademoye’s growing influence as a filmmaker embracing digital platforms for film distribution.

However, the success was briefly overshadowed when the actress discovered that the movie had been demonetised on YouTube due to a copyright claim linked to a song used in the film. The development meant that despite the high viewership, the movie was no longer generating revenue.

Bimbo Ademoye explained that the song in question was originally produced for the movie and that all necessary agreements had been completed. Despite this, an individual allegedly uploaded the song on multiple digital platforms and claimed ownership, which triggered YouTube’s automated copyright system and affected the movie’s monetisation.

The actress took to social media to express her frustration and seek help, drawing widespread support from fans, colleagues, and industry stakeholders. Many users reported the song across platforms, leading to its eventual removal.
In a recent update shared on Instagram, Bimbo Ademoye announced that the issue had been resolved. She expressed gratitude to her mother, her legal and management team, and members of her online community for standing by her throughout the ordeal. She also confirmed that the song linked to the false claim had been taken down across platforms.

While appreciating the overwhelming support she received, the actress noted that the experience was emotionally draining but reaffirmed her gratitude to everyone who reached out to assist during the period.

The incident has once again drawn attention to the challenges faced by Nigerian filmmakers on digital platforms, particularly regarding copyright enforcement and monetisation systems.

Many creatives have continued to call for stronger safeguards to protect original content creators from false claims.
With the matter now settled, Where Love Lives remains available on YouTube, and fans have continued to celebrate the actress’s resilience and success in the digital film space.
