Organizers of The Headies have revealed that Afrobeat king Femi Kuti will be performing at the 2012 awards scheduled for October 20, 2012 at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
This will be Femi Kuti’s first ever performance at the awards show. Of course, this also gives the prestigious awards another look, as it is fast becoming a blend of generational genres of music.
A few weeks back it was announced along with the nominations list that Kuti, 50, will be inducted into The Headies Hall Of Fame. ‘It’s a kind of privilege, its good. I mean I would drink a bottle of champagne when I get it, we will celebrate here’, the three-time Grammy nominee says
The full list of artistes scheduled to perform at the award ceremony will be announced in due course by the organisers.
Other Hall Of Fame Inductees include Dayo ‘D1’ Adeneye, Kenny ‘Keke’ Ogungbe, Phillip Trimmel, Olisa Adibua, Obi Asika, Femi Akintunde Johnson, Sir Shina Peters and DJ Jimmy JATT.
