47-year old Udeme, who was arraigned by the Lagos State Government on a two-count charge of murder and misconduct with regard to a corpse, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
According to the Lagos State prosecutor Sunmonu Babatunde, Udeme allegedly committed the offence on May 3rd at their residence in Diamond Estate, Sangotedo, Lekki, Lagos.
Udeme stabbed her husband and mutilated his corpse by cutting his genitals, Babatunde said.
According to the police, Udeme, who was earlier arraigned before a Yaba Magistrate’s Court, had confessed to committing the murder.
The case has been adjourned to October 8 and 9 for hearing.
