American singer Chris Brown has been taken into custody in connection with a reported assault that occurred at a London nightclub in February 2023. British authorities have confirmed the arrest and charging of the US artist with inflicting grievous bodily harm related to the alleged incident. Both London’s Metropolitan Police and the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) issued separate statements indicating that Brown is scheduled to appear before a magistrates’ court on Friday.
Police reports specify that the arrest pertains to an incident that took place at a venue in Hanover Square on February 19, 2023. Brown, 36, was reportedly apprehended at a hotel in Manchester in connection with an alleged bottle attack on a music producer at the Tape nightclub, located in central London, according to earlier reporting by the Sun newspaper.
The R&B artist, famous for tracks like “Loyal”, “Run It”, and “Under the Influence”, is slated to commence a global tour next month, with performances scheduled in Manchester.
