Celebrated Nigerian actor and producer Femi Adebayo has shared the pivotal moment he decided to pivot from a legal career to embrace acting as his true vocation.
Adebayo, who holds a Master’s Degree in Law from the University of Ibadan, revealed that he was practicing as a lawyer, earning a monthly salary of ₦20,000, while acting remained merely a hobby.
However, during an interview with Pulse, he recounted receiving an acting offer that fundamentally shifted his perspective: "Honestly speaking, that was when I started working as a lawyer. My salary then was just N20,000 on a monthly basis. And acting was a hobby for me all this while. So not until they invited me for acting roles, they were ready to pay me N50,000 for three days. And as a lawyer, I was getting N20,000 for one month. I said, Femi, this acting is your calling. That was when I decided that I would abandon law practice and face entertainment fully.”
This significant opportunity spurred him to leave his legal practice and fully commit to the entertainment industry, strategically leveraging both his inherent talent and his family's established legacy, given that his father is the esteemed veteran actor Adebayo Salami, widely known as Oga Bello.
