Priscilla Ojo Embraces Islam and Adopts Muslim Name After Tanzanian Nikah Ceremony

Priscilla Ajoke Ojo, daughter of beloved Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo, recently embraced a profound new chapter in her personal and spiritual journey following her Islamic wedding to Tanzanian singer Juma Jux in Dar es Salaam. During the ceremony held on February 7, 2025, Priscilla publicly converted to Islam and proudly announced her new Muslim name: Hadiza Mkambala.

In stunning photos from the Nikah ceremony, Priscilla appeared radiant in a gold-beaded floor-length gown, modestly styled with a matching turban symbolizing both her faith and cultural elegance. Juma Jux complemented her in a traditional white jalabiya atop an Islamic kimono, completing the unforgettable moment of unity and devotion.

The reveal of her new name was met with an outpouring of love and prayers online. Supporters and celebrities flooded her feed with heartfelt messages celebrating her rebirth into Islamic faith and her new identity.

During an interview on Tanzania’s Millard Ayo show, Juma Jux shared that guiding his wife through the conversion process required patience, respect, and support from religious leaders. Over time, Priscilla came to embrace both Islam and her new name with sincerity.

The journey from Priscilla to Hadiza reflects more than a religious shift—it represents cultural unity, love, and intentional partnership. Her Islamic name serves as a symbol of her new identity and respect for her husband’s faith and heritage.

This story follows their grand Pan-African wedding series—spanning Tanzania and Nigeria—tagged as #JP2025, where both Nigerian and Tanzanian traditions merged beautifully. The entire celebration included multiple ceremonies: a Tanzanian Nikah, Nigerian traditional wedding, and a Lagos reception, all united by love and cross-cultural respect.
