Grammy-winning artist Wizkid (Ayodeji Balogun) took a moment on social media to honor his mother, Jane “Morayo” Balogun, on her posthumous birthday marking another year without the guiding presence of the woman who played a pivotal role in his life and career.

On Instagram and X, the star simply wrote: “Happy birthday, my Queen ❤️”, accompanied by a photo of his mother showcasing his respect and affection three days ago  .

Jane Balogun passed away on August 18, 2023, in London. Known affectionately to fans as “Mama Wizkid”, she was deeply revered for her unwavering support of her son’s musical journey. This tribute is another touching reminder of how deeply her influence persists.

Roughly a year earlier, on her first posthumous birthday, Wizkid shared powerful words on X:

“Happy birthday, love of my life! I miss you every day… Nothing makes sense without you, Mama! Life is empty without you… Your smile is a memory I will never forget.” 

Her name and spirit continued to guide him even further his June 22, 2024 album, Morayo, pays direct homage to her name and legacy, released under RCA and Starboy Entertainment.
