Kebbi LG Chairman Releases Names of 25 Abducted Schoolgirls; Debunks Religious Claims

The Chairman of Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area in Kebbi State, Hussaini Aliyu, has officially released the names of the 25 schoolgirls abducted from the Government Girls Comprehensive School (GGCS), Maga.

Refuting Claims of Religious Bias

In conjunction with releasing the names, Chairman Aliyu directly refuted claims made by U.S. lawmaker Riley Moore that the mass abduction occurred within a Christian enclave. Aliyu firmly stated that all the abducted students are Muslims and emphasized that the Maga community, which falls under the Zuru Emirate, has a long history of religious harmony.

Aliyu strongly urged the U.S. lawmaker to refrain from disseminating unverified statements that could incite religious or ethnic tensions, especially as security agencies continue their intense efforts to secure the safe return of the girls.
